As a UK artist born in Birmingham and now residing in East Devon for the past 25 years, I embrace the journey of lifelong learning in my craft. My artistic expression predominantly unfolds through the rich mediums of acrylics and oils, where I delve into abstract and semi abstract styles, Layering textures and colours to create depth and intrigue. The interplay of mark making techniques in my work serves to infuse each piece with movement, emotion, and a tactile quality that invites viewers to engage with the art on multiple levels. Drawing inspiration from my daily walks along coastal paths, beaches, heaths, woodlands and rivers. I find beauty in both sweeping landscapes and minute details, all of which evoke a profound sense of wonder. My art aims to articulate the intricate relationship between humanity and nature, reflecting on our past, present, and future interactions with the environment. Additionally, growing up in the vibrant 60s and 70s, my pieces often embody a nostalgic, retro essence, characterised by a lively colour palette that conveys joy and warmth. Thorough my work, I aspire to share not only my admiration for the natural world but also an intimate glimpse into my own experiences, inviting other to connect with the beauty and complexity of life.
